Cherry Blossom

A solemn kingdom,
Among ancient woodland trees,
A cherry blossom.

My Definition of a Good Photo

What makes a good photo is the intrigue, the psychology of lines, and movement that will make a story. This photo is intriguing because it is a reflection and you can tell that it is taken from the inside of a car. The seat and the steering wheel go along with rule of thirds, but even though the focus of the photograph is slightly in the middle, if you just look at the frame of the mirror, the man follows rule of thirds within that. The story of this photo is that we are waiting at a gas station as my grandpa waits for his car to be filled up. You can see the emotion in his face and are able to make your own story to it.

This is a great photo because of the movement, the lighting, and the smaller details. You can see the drops of water falling and hitting the hand, you can picture the movement. The hand has good lighting that makes it easier on the eye and allows more detail along with shadows, even of the water droplets. This photo is very detailed; you can even see the water rippling down the hand and the shimmer of wetness on the fingers.
